First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SDG Group.
Data Scientist
First, you are asked to describe yourself as a person, highlighting your character, values, and personal qualities (like being responsible, committed, proactive, a team player, etc.). Second, you should present the techniques or skills you master, meaning the practical knowledge and competencies you can apply at work or school (like using software, organization methods, problem-solving approaches, etc.). Lastly, the interview includes a part to specify your English level, covering comprehension, speaking, and writing, which helps evaluate your communication skills in a language crucial for many roles.
- What is your expected salary?
- What is your English level?
- What technologies do you use?
Data Scientist
First, a general HR interview. Second, an interview with the Data Science lead with technical questions. Third, an interview with 5 data scientists and data engineers to present results and answer many questions. I had one week to develop several models and prepare a presentation. They expected me to have dedicated much more time. They said everything was fine, but later informed me by email that 'you are not the profile we are looking for'. My opinion is that they are not looking for someone capable of solving complex problems or creating quality models, but just to automate quickly and cheaply.
- Explain the results of various predictive models and suggest alternatives, and discuss how to automate the process.
Data Scientist
I got a call from HR in the USA about the Sr. Data Scientist role in the SDG group. The HR asked some basic questions about my past work and skills. Then, two days later, I got rejected by email.
- What's your reason for seeking a new opportunity?
