Operations Analyst
First, there was a phone call. Then, an in-person interview where I met the whole team. It was mostly basic questions, discussing my experience and what the team does. After the call and in-person interview, they didn't contact me back, leaving me hanging, which was great.
- What is your greatest weakness?
Global Controller
I applied through university and did a 15-minute phone screen, which was mostly questions about my resume, experience, and qualifications. It was pretty straightforward. About a week after the phone screen, I got an invitation for an office interview, and that was scheduled for another week later. I interviewed with three employees back-to-back, with each interview lasting about 30 minutes. They were all easy to talk to and didn't ask anything too difficult, just standard interview questions. The first interview felt a bit rushed since it was only 30 minutes.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Are you on the CPA track?
- Why are you interested in OZ?
Associate
Scheduling was a mess from the start. They initially seemed really interested, but the constant cancellations and rescheduling made it feel like they weren't. When I finally got there for the interview, the person I was supposed to meet was busy. It was pretty rude how they handled things, honestly. I'm kind of glad I didn't get the job if that's how they treat potential hires. If they can't even make time for me, I can't imagine what it's like to work with them. Maybe they should do their initial screening over the phone next time to save everyone some time. The building itself is pretty old and run-down too.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this role?
- What motivates you to want to work for this company?
Investor Services Associate
I found out about the role through a recruiter and they handled all the interview details. The interview was in person, and I met with three people total. Och Ziff says it's a flat organization, and the people I met didn't have titles on their business cards. It seemed like two people were at my level and one was above me. This was the first round, so a lot of the questions were about fit and personality.
- Can you tell me about a time you missed a deadline?
