First, there was a 15-minute video call with the hiring manager. They asked me some questions and also gave me time to ask questions. They seemed to really care about how I came across on video because a lot of the job involves working over video.

I went through four interviews over about a month and a half. It seemed like they were hiring for a few positions under the Project Specialist title for different teams. The interviews were pleasant and seemed to go well. Unfortunately, I did not get the job. The rejection email was a form letter, and it stated that due to the high number of applicants, they couldn't provide feedback. While I don't expect feedback, after four interviews, I felt I had a good sense of the company. Scribe Media says they focus on open and ongoing feedback for employees, so I felt feedback would have been helpful for my improvement. The rejection felt like a door slammed shut, especially after investing so much time in the process.

So when I applied, I had to do a video recording of my answers to some questions. About 3 weeks later, the HR coordinator let me know about a meeting with a random team member. A week after that, I had a chat with the coordinator, and they mostly asked culture-fit type questions, like about my favorite book and what makes me "feel alive.". It was a pretty chill conversation with a nice person, but I didn't get much info about the job or what they were looking for. It was hard to tell how I did. Two weeks after that, I heard back saying I wasn't moving on.

The interview process is kinda long, but it's worth it. First, you fill out an online application with written answers to three questions. Then, you record 60-second video clips answering three more questions – you can re-record as many times as you want since you aren't actually talking to someone live. After that, I had two Zoom interviews and then an in-person one. The onsite interview in Austin was four hours long and I met with four different people, but it was time well spent. They answered all my questions and I got a really good sense of what working at Scribe would actually be like.
