Senior Frontend Developer
The recruiter initially mentioned my salary expectations might be too high. I also noticed the company has a lot of negative reviews online. Other reviews also mentioned that the company has had open roles for a long time and interviews a lot of people, but they end up not hiring good candidates because they are looking for someone who will accept less pay. I was really surprised when I didn't move forward after the first technical interview, especially since the interviewer told me I did really well and that I was moving on. I'd rather work for a company with better reviews and higher pay than one that wastes my time looking for a unicorn.

Software Engineer
I went through a few rounds of interviews, including chats with the hiring manager and some technical assessments like an architecture review. They gave me some prep materials beforehand, which was nice. I was upfront about my salary expectations, which matched what they advertised, and that's why I applied. Everyone seemed friendly, but also a bit unenthusiastic, like the job had drained them. After what I thought was the last interview, I didn't hear back as quickly as before, so I figured I wasn't getting an offer. I got an offer from another company, and then that same afternoon, Scribd reached out to schedule a call. They said they were still discussing an offer, and I let them know my timeline and the other offer I had. They said they couldn't match it because of my interview performance and location (which wasn't mentioned as affecting pay in the listing). The recruiter tried to convince me Scribd would be a better place to work, so I asked them to let me know their offer since I was still interested. After that, the recruiter ghosted me completely, with no rejection notice. Months later, she accidentally messaged me on LinkedIn about the same role.

Engineering Manager
I submitted my resume and then a recruiter reached out asking about my availability. We had a recruiter call. After that, I had a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager, which felt too short. He said he wanted to schedule more time to talk and asked about my availability, saying he'd let the recruiter know. I waited 3-4 days with no word, so I emailed the recruiter. Then I found out the recruiter had changed. About four days later, the new recruiter told me they weren't proceeding with my application, which contradicted what the hiring manager said. I felt like they didn't want to hire US citizens because I was doing the work they required, and it's hard to find the right fit.

Product Analyst
So I had a recruiter call, then a call with the hiring manager, then a SQL technical screening which was pretty tough because the questions had tight time limits. After that, there was a virtual onsite with 5 people who were a mix of PMs and PAs. Finally, I had a culture fit call with the VP of Data. The recruiter was helpful and kept me updated through each stage, so it was a decent experience overall, pretty fair.
