First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Scratchpad.
Senior Software Engineer
I first had a 15-minute recruiter call. Then, I got a Woven test link with three parts: a 1-hour programming test, a 30-minute SQL query test, and a 15-minute system architecture test. I thought I passed them all and submitted. The next day, Woven emailed saying my programming test failed 8 out of 12 cases because I didn't round to the cent. The Scratchpad team then rejected me, saying I failed the test. I feel like I passed it when I submitted. I don't know why I failed, Woven never explained. The test was confusing and gave fake passes.
- They sent me Woven tests, which is a third-party platform for technical interviews.
Recruiter
The interview process was long. It started with a 30-minute video call with a recruiter, followed by another 30-minute video call with the head of operations. Then, there was a 90-minute Zoom call. During this call, I had to find 3 candidate profiles for a randomly assigned job, create a drip campaign for them, and prepare a role-play scenario for an introductory call with a passive candidate and an intake call with a new hiring manager. I had to present these to 2-3 interviewers who provided feedback throughout. I feel like their interview approach could be improved; it felt more judgmental and harsh than conversational.
- Complete the role plays and present them to the team.
Workflow Specialist
This was one of the best interview experiences I've had. It started with a phone screen and then moved into interviews with my hiring manager and team. It felt really personalized because people were genuinely curious about me. They were evaluating me as a whole person and the hiring managers were interested in my transferrable skills, which is something many companies say they do but don't actually follow through on.
- The final round will end with a mock onboarding exercise.
Account Executive
The interview process was amazing! Michael was super nice and gave me great advice on how to do better in future interviews. You could hear the excitement in Michael's voice when he talked about his job and Scratchpad as a company. Also, Michael was upfront about my qualifications and didn't string me along like other recruiters have. Great product and great experience, all in all!!
- Can you share your most significant achievement as an Account Executive?
