So after I applied, I first had to do this online test thingy, it was like a simulated work environment. It had some behavioural and competency questions, plus a maths test. Then I had an interview, which was a call with another actuary. The last stage was an assessment centre, which took up the whole day.

The interview process involved 3 rounds: an HR manager, head of desk, and the CIO. The interview was held in Edinburgh in the afternoon. It was organized by a recruitment consultant. An offer was made a few weeks after the interviews. General investment philosophy, stock analysis, and portfolio construction were discussed.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So I had my 1:1 interview at Scottish Widows today and wanted to share how it went down. I met Robert, who led me to a small pod and introduced me to someone else who'd be taking notes. They started by giving more details about the role, including the pay, hours, and specific duties. Standard stuff, really. Then, it moved into a more in-depth, structured competency-based interview with four questions focused on customer care and adapting to workplace changes. They were really precise about what they were looking for, more so than in the phone interview. Lastly, there was a roleplay. It was supposed to be over the phone, but there were technical issues, so I did a mock 'phone call' in the office with Robert acting as a client with a query about his holiday insurance. It felt a bit odd, but I think it went pretty well. Overall, the interview was tougher than I anticipated, and the interviewers were serious, not revealing much. I'm hoping to hear back next week. Fingers crossed!

Behavioral

I applied online through the Lloyds Banking website and then had an online interview via Teams. It was only 30 minutes long. The questions weren't too difficult, but I was expecting more questions about customer service, like 'tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer' or 'a time you went the extra mile'. Instead, it focused more on their company values, so I'd really recommend learning their values thoroughly and having examples ready!
