First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Scott Credit Union.
Teller
I applied for two jobs at the same time, which led to some confusion with communication. I had a first interview, and a week later, I got a notification for another first interview. I tried to contact the HR Rep I spoke with, but never heard back. So, during the second first interview, I brought it up, and she said she could use her old notes, so we didn't need to do it again. My in-person interview went really well. When they called with the offer, I asked about the pay, and it was less than I expected. She said she'd check on it and get back to me. The next day, I emailed and called her four times before I could reach her. She told me she was still waiting for an answer. The following day, towards the end of the day, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again and left a message. Soon after, I got an email with my offer letter, but she never called to explain anything. The HR Rep handling my onboarding has been great and is keeping me informed about the next steps. Overall, the experience was okay, but the waiting periods were nerve-wracking.
- What did you think was the most important SCU value?
Core Analyst
The interview process consisted of 3 interviews. The first was with an HR rep. The second was with the 2 managers of the department. And the 3rd was with the manager of the core analyst team as well as the rest of the team. All the interviews were really good experiences. Everyone was incredibly kind and wonderful to talk with. They asked good questions, and allowed me to ask good follow ups.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a situation during a crisis?
Financial Services Representative
Went to an open interview they were holding at one of their branches. There were three main parts to it: first, an initial interview to see if they'd even consider you. Then, a simulation test where you had to do calls as fast as you could. The last part was a more formal interview. I got ready by looking up the company and practicing common interview questions, which was super helpful in both interviews. I got an offer the next day and they gave me a start date two weeks later, and the training is like seven days.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your key strengths?
- What do you consider to be a weakness?
Financial Services Representative
The process was incredibly straightforward. Communicating with Ms. Jasmin from HR was a pleasure; she was friendly and encouraging. I really liked our phone interview. She let me show my energetic personality and answered all my questions by phone and email. Then, Ms. Jasmin set me up for a great video interview with Ms. Harmony and Ms. Donna. That was a lot of fun. During the formal questions, I got to share my skills, talk about my career goals, and again, let my enthusiastic and fun-loving side show while having a good conversation, sharing laughs, and connecting with them.
- What's a weakness you have?
- Describe a time you messed up.
