& Process

Had a video interview with one person, then met in person with management and potential supervisors. The overall process was easy, straightforward, and respectful of my time and experience. They decided to hire internally at the end of the process.

I had a group interview with 6 people at once, which was really intimidating and didn't feel super effective. Then, I had a second round with my future account director, although it was supposed to be with other management, they apparently didn't have time. It took about a week and a half for them to extend an offer, but the catch was I had to accept right away with no chance to negotiate pay or benefits. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of recent grads desperate for any job and were paying them very little.

The interview process was quite long, spanning three hours. I was actually interviewing for two positions simultaneously. The afternoon was broken down into six separate half-hour interviews. Unfortunately, two of these meetings were for a role that had just been filled earlier that same day, which was pretty frustrating given my interest in it. It was particularly annoying because the unavailable position was the one I was most excited about. While I really enjoyed meeting Susan Furlong, I later spoke with the President, Toni Clem, and discovered that my salary expectations were apparently too high, despite what the recruiter had initially indicated. Although I generally liked the people I met, I was a bit concerned that the recruiter hadn't actually met some of the interviewers yet, which I found a little odd, even if she is new.

I applied online and heard back within a month. When I got to the interview, I had to wait a long time (an hour and a half) in the lobby. Right when I was about to leave, the interviewer showed up. During the interview, we were interrupted over 10 times. It was hard to have a real conversation because of this. I asked if it was a bad time and if I should reschedule, but they said no. There were also other distractions like phones ringing and dogs in the office. They didn't apologize for any of it, which made me feel like my interview wasn't important. I think if a company disrespects you during the interview, they might not value you as an employee. A couple of my friends who interviewed at the same company had similar experiences, and some of them work there now. I heard back a few weeks later, but I had already accepted another job.
