First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Schulte Hospitality Group.
Guest Service Representative
I had an in-person interview where I met with the director and assistant director. It was a really good experience, and the face-to-face meeting helped us get to know each other better.
- What is your definition of luxury?
Marketing
I went through a pretty extensive process, meeting with pretty much the whole leadership team, including the Schulte family. It was surprising that there wasn't a formal assignment or project. They verbally offered me the role and said I'd get an official letter on Monday, but then they ghosted me. I heard through the grapevine that ownership just changed their mind. If leadership doesn't have the professional maturity to communicate that and leaves candidates hanging, then it's a no-go for me.
- What are the typical questions for a position like this?
General Manager
The interview process was very disorganized. Some people didn't even know I was interviewing. Nobody picked me up at the airport. I spent most of the day just sitting in a conference room while they tried to find people to interview me. I think there was a recruiter call, then the onsite where I sat around, then they must have done a background check, and hopefully an offer.
- Have you ever been fired before?
Graphic Designer
I had an initial chat and they said I was good to go to the next round. But then, nada. No reply, no nothing. Just silence. Now I see they posted the job again. It's one thing to not hear back after applying. But to talk to someone, be told you're moving on, and then get ghosted? That's not just bad manners—it's rude. And really, it shows what the company is like inside.
- Can you show me some of your best work?
