I applied through their company site, and about two weeks later, HR reached out to schedule a phone interview. After the phone interview, an in-person interview was set up at their centrally located and nice-looking, recently renovated office. I briefly met with HR, who then took me to the hiring manager's office. The interview itself was easy, and the people were friendly. However, their follow-up was very poor; they said they would contact me but never did, and my follow-up a few weeks later also went unanswered. They were quick to schedule the interviews, but it was disappointing that they didn't follow up afterward. I've had better experiences with companies both larger and smaller than Scholastic regarding communication with potential employees. It's a shame because I likely won't apply or recommend them.

The first step was a quick maths and literacy test, where the maths part involved percentages and the literacy part required rewriting an email to fix grammar and spelling. This was followed by a 20-30 minute interview with two people from the marketing department.

So basically, a recruiter hit me up by email first. Then we set up an initial phone screen. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager over video. In the end, I was told I didn't get the job.
