Data Scientist
It started with a brief self intro, then live-coding using SQL and Python/R to tackle date problems. We also went over my resume and past projects in detail. They asked about my ML knowledge too, followed by a Q&A.
- Could you demonstrate how to write a linear regression?
- What are the methods for tuning hyperparameters in Random Forests?
- Tell me about your resume and detailed projects.
Data Scientist Intern
The interview consisted of a 25-minute coding round, followed by a 20-minute Q/A about a previous data science project. Finally, there was a 15-minute general discussion about mutual expectations and the role. The interview was conducted by a panel of 4 people from different departments at schnucks.
- Was hyperparameter tuning for an ML model performed on the training set?
Data Scientist
Had a phone interview first, then a zoom interview. The manager spoke with me first, going over my resume and asking about my projects. For the second interview, the team asked for more details on one of the projects I worked on.
- What are the trade-offs between bias and variance?
