Behavioral Case

I had one interview with the director. It was a pretty standard interview. They asked me scenario-based questions to see if I was good at managing client expectations, and then general background, strengths, and weaknesses questions. Just be yourself! The most important part of interviewing for a client-facing role is showing your personality because they want to make sure you're a good fit for the team and the client.

I interviewed with a couple of supervisors for a month-to-month contract position. I basically spoke with them for about 40 minutes, left my resume and portfolio, and that was it. I was offered the gig a couple of weeks later. I contracted for 3 months before being offered a full-time position. Nothing formal took place, as Human Resources is based in 700 miles away. Hiring freelancers became the norm rather than the exception shortly after I was hired.

Behavioral Technical

It was a two-stage interview process. The first interview included a skills review. They also asked typical questions about my experience. Both interviewers were quite pleasant. I got a job offer, but the company wanted me to accept and quit my current job based just on a letter. When the contract finally came, it was full of mistakes. The company didn't admit any errors, so I had no choice but to decline the offer.

So, the interview started with a group session. There were about 10 of us. They gave us an image to retouch within a set time. Some people came prepared with their own tablets and Photoshop presets. The team was clear about what they wanted and how to do it. We all turned in our edited images at the end.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The task involved editing a provided studio image, masking it onto a white background, and completing light retouching.
