First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Scenthound.
Dog Groomer
Scenthound does an initial phone chat, then an in-person meeting to talk about your experience and schedule. After that, there's a hands-on part where you show your grooming skills. We'll also chat about our company standards. If you're hired, we'll do the onboarding paperwork at the location.
- Tell me about your experience.
Director of IT
After multiple team interviews and some cognitive/predictive tests, the fractional CTO who was the hiring manager gave me a simulated interview. They described a potential project for 15 minutes and then asked me to create a project plan and presentation. They watched me for 45 minutes while I worked on it. I finished the plan and presentation within the tight deadline. I got a generic rejection email and no feedback when I asked.
- What is your philosophy versus technical content?
Front Desk
The interview process was made very simple and easy by conducting a phone conversation with the locations manager. We got to know each other a little bit and talked about our previous experiences in the Doggo world. She went over the position/role and the expectations that need to be met by the front desk staff here at Scenthound. The management is super helpful during training and patient during the busy workweek.
- Tell me about your comfort level with dogs.
- Can you describe your computer skills?
- What is your experience with scheduling?
Dog Bather
The interview process was pretty straightforward, with some extra probing into why I never finished college and why I moved around so much. There were also some personality type questions thrown in. The question that threw me was “do you consider yourself a lucky person.”
