First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Scandit.
Product Manager
I had my first interview and it went well, so they scheduled me for a second one. But then, two hours before the second interview, they cancelled it because they apparently found someone else. It's weird because I thought there were four rounds and I always picked the earliest slots. They weren't very transparent about it and didn't give me any feedback.
- What is your desired salary?
Product Manager
There were several interview stages. First, an HR call with general questions. Then, a meeting with the CTO to assess PM mindset through more general questions. This was followed by a discussion with the Head of Products involving a case study about defining requirements for a new solution. The final stage was a board discussion where I presented a second case study to three PMs, the CTO, and HR. It was a good discussion with various questions. Sadly, the feedback after the board discussion was negative, though the interview itself wasn't too bad. My sense is that the company has very high standards and a specific profile in mind for candidates. In my presentation, I aimed for realism, focusing on practicality rather than 'exotic' solutions. My advice for future PM interviewees is to emphasize creativity, as this is crucial for innovation and market differentiation.
- Can you explain the reasons behind Google's decision to develop Chrome?
Product Manager
The interview process included an intro call with HR, followed by an in-person interview with the founder and CPO. Then, another in-person interview with a senior product manager. After that, a full day of interviews with various team members, which also included a presentation. Finally, there was a 1-hour analytical skill test and 2 reference calls with former employers.
- Regarding an internal tool they want to optimize, would you consider a ready-made product and why?
