Started with a Zoom pre-screen where the recruiter laid out the interview steps. After that, I had virtual interviews with the team. They seemed pretty decent and professional. Didn't get any further.

The interviewers were good engineers but seemed like soft salespeople who weren't really trying to expand into new markets. They couldn't provide a solid list of enterprise reference customers, with most clients appearing to be SMB and mid-level. Overall, the experience was positive, but I'm a bit concerned because everyone I spoke with has been with the company for over 5 years and doesn't seem to be aware of current market trends.

I went through two interviews, the first one was with my potential manager. I felt it went pretty well and then I got invited to a panel interview. The panel interview was going fine until they asked me about work-life balance. I said that it was the most important thing to me, and I immediately knew that was a bad answer. They told me that work-life balance is not a given, and then right after that, they asked if I would be willing to answer emails and work on holidays and PTO. That seems like a major red flag to me.

So the interview process kicked off with a quick chat, basically to see if we were a good fit. Then, there was a ~30min phone call with an engineer where they asked about general programming stuff. After that, we had round 4, which was an hour long live coding and debugging session with two developers. The final step was giving a deep dive technical presentation on a past software project I worked on.
