Manager
The interview process was long and took a lot of time, with many rounds, case studies that took hours to prep for, and flying across the country for several in-person interviews. Sadly, I made it to the final stage and thought I did well, but when I asked for an update, I got a generic rejection email and no feedback. I get that companies need to cover themselves, but from my experience with other companies, I think it's fair to expect some feedback after a process this long. More openness and consideration for candidates would be great.

Project Controls Coordinator
The interview process and questions were fine until I was told I might be "overqualified" and that another pending position (Sr) might be a better fit. I didn't apply for this mystery position, I applied for the one in the job title, so that set the stage for what was to come. Nowhere in the requirements does it state Pivot Tables and V-lookups. I explained I've done them in former roles and might be rusty, but here comes the MS assessment with steps not only for the above but for Macros, which I've never used. The bottom line is this job was perfect for me, but I was judged by an assessment where I had to just move on to the next question, and when I was using these tools, I managed just fine. So much for being "overqualified"! You better know the whole MS Office Suite if you plan to make it through the 30-minute assessment, or be prepared to select "Next Question" if you click somewhere the system doesn't like.

Real Estate Analyst
The interview process with SBA was pretty standard. I applied online, had a call with a recruiter, and then a video meeting with three people from the Asset Optimization Team. However, my experience with SBA's HR and the team was really bad. After the phone interview, the Hiring Manager said I'd hear from the recruiter by Friday, but I didn't hear anything for two full weeks. The recruiter then emailed me asking for my availability for an in-person interview that week. The next day, they emailed again saying they weren't interested anymore, even though they'd asked about my availability for a follow-up. When I asked why, they said the Hiring Manager changed their mind and apologized for the confusion. I tried contacting the Hiring Manager, but they ignored me and passed it back to the recruiter. The recruiter apologized again and said this wasn't the usual process, and that they'd talk to the Hiring Manager. About a month later, I applied for another Analyst role at the same company and office and left the same recruiter a voicemail. I didn't hear back all week, so I emailed saying I wasn't interested anymore. Within five minutes, the recruiter responded with another apology, saying they were catching up after being on PTO that Monday. It was frustrating and showed how unprofessional people can be, hiding behind computers or HR. It seems like a company that values certain types of people, especially since the Hiring Manager got a promotion afterward. I don't think any amount of money would make up for this experience.

Customer Service Representative
