Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Save the Children US.
Associate
I applied and then I was emailed to complete a questionnaire with more details. Then I had a preliminary interview with HR and the final interview with the supervisor and then got an offer.
- Can you tell me about a challenge you have faced and how you dealt with it?
Lead Associate
The first step was an email with a few detailed questions about you and your expectations for salary. I thought they were great questions to start and set the tone for both sides.
- Could you share specific instances where you've utilized Microsoft Excel?
- What are your salary expectations?
Senior Associate
The interview process was smooth overall, and I had a good experience with everyone from HR to the team I was considering joining. It started with HR asking some basic screening questions, followed by a 45-minute interview with the hiring manager. Then, there was an hour-long panel interview with three people, which also went well. However, I really disliked that they asked for my minimum salary expectation during the initial screening, only to offer me less than that after all the interviews were completed. Despite it being a great company, I'm not willing to accept an offer below what I consider a fair wage. Let's be respectful of each other's time and communicate maturely.
