The interview process can be lengthy. They start with a phone call, then zoom, then a couple in person meetings. One key is to be proactive in staying in communciation with the recruiter. Also, being able to make a postitive impression with everyone you meet is key. Make sure you work on telling your story and framing your experience well.

The whole thing started with a quick call from a recruiter, then I had to wait around two weeks to get an interview. They told me I was the first person they talked to, but then the next day, I got an automated rejection email. It felt super fast and unfair considering the interview was pretty long, over an hour. I don't think they really thought about it much. It was all very rushed and unclear.

I went through 9 rounds of interviews and a reference check, but then got ghosted. It's unprofessional for a firm to do this, especially since the industry is small. I spoke with leadership and key employees. About 80% of the interviews were about execution approach and examples, and the rest about wealth management industry knowledge. They recently hired a critical leadership role who were still getting settled. The process seemed more about cultural fit than professional skills. I hope they improve their interviewing and courtesy, because ghosting people after 3 months of their time is rude. Shame on them.

HR emailed me and had me select a time off their calendar for an interview. I proceeded to do so and then we spoke on the phone and went over my background and she explained the role to me. It was a seamless process. The interviewer was very kind, knowledgeable, and personable. A few weeks later HR reached out to schedule an interview with the hiring manager.
