First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Savannah State University.
Accounts Payable Specialist
It was a very in-depth interview process. They had the entire team there for the interview so you wouldn't have to come back. You met with several levels of management in one day.
- Could you answer some basic accounting questions?
Administrative Specialist
It took ages to even get a callback after applying, like months. There were 2 phone calls after I sent my application 2 months prior. Then I had a panel interview with 4 people, and they asked questions one after another. I heard back from the direct supervisor within 2 weeks after the interview.
- What are your 5-year professional goals?
Director
The interview process was pretty quick. I did my interview over Skype and about a week later received a call that I got the job. The questions were pretty simple they just really want to see your personality in the interview to see if you can gel with the rest of the staff in the department.
- Tell me about a challenge you faced in your previous role and how you overcame it.
Assistant Professor
Had a full day of interviews, met all the folks in the department. We had lunch with the department head. I also gave a talk that lasted an hour. Then I came back in the afternoon.
