I got contacted about 10 days after the job closing date. The HR person was super nice and helpful, which made me excited. I even stayed at a hotel nearby the night before to be sure I'd be on time. I got there 25 minutes early, and there were already two people waiting. The first one went in for about 10 minutes, and the next one went in about an hour after I arrived, for about 20 minutes. I ended up waiting in the office for over an hour. Someone from the interview panel came out and said they'd be with me soon. I could hear them laughing about the previous candidate's answers. Finally, someone from the panel called me in, almost two hours after my scheduled time. No explanation or apology was given for the delay. They introduced themselves and immediately started the interview. Each of the four panel members had six questions. While I was answering, I noticed the HR rep on the panel looked really bored. After about a minute of my response, he seemed uninterested, like he'd heard enough. Waiting so long, hearing them mock another candidate, and seeing disinterest from some interviewers made an already stressful interview even worse. I was qualified, but it felt like they already had someone picked. It seems like a waste of time to interview candidates who don't have a real chance. I've never written a review like this before, but I felt the unprofessionalism needed to be shared. If I were to get an offer, I'd decline it because of how I was treated. It makes me wonder how they'd treat employees if this is how they handle interviews.

The interview process was very straightforward. I spoke with the Principal and then they offered me the job right after the interview.

I applied to SCCPSS from out of state. The principal was willing to do a phone interview, but I also flew down to check out the area and interview in person. I interviewed at the school, and it was in his office and felt informal. I've interviewed for other positions in the district since then, and those interviews were at the BOE downtown and seemed to follow a set process, sometimes with a panel.

So to get hired for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, first you gotta do the online application. Then, they'll give you a call for a phone interview, that's round one. If that goes well, you'll go in person to meet with the program coordinator and the Director. If you nail the interview, impress them with new ideas and how you'd make the program better, they'll move forward with hiring you.
