Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Saudi Aramco.
Finance Analyst
Got an interview call just one day before the interview. It was a very short interview, only taking 10-15 minutes for initial screening. The interview was formal and they only asked technical questions.
- Could you detail the different methodologies used for financial analysis, and can you independently manage job responsibilities?
Financial Analyst
I had several interviews and the ones with the people I would have been working with were good. The last interview with a senior person was not good, they were very cold. It's possible it was for the best because it seems they are not sure what they are looking for. They said it was a new position and they didn't have specifics. Watching their job postings, I don't think they know what they want.
- Can you describe a time a previous manager motivated you?
Financial Analyst
After I sent in my application materials, which included a transcript, they were super excited that I was studying actuarial science. A few days later, I had a phone call where they asked what an actuarial could do to help the company's finances. I explained how actuarial science could be used for a big oil company, mainly for insuring against risks in new or developing areas. They offered me the job right then, in the health and benefits division.
- Can you explain the role of an actuary and how that can be advantageous for the company?
- In what ways can an actuary contribute to enhancing the company's financial results?
