First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Satcom Direct, Inc..
Administrative Assistant
The interview process involves meeting with 3 supervisors who will ask about your past employment experiences. They will also inquire about your family situation, specifically if you have children and who would care for them. A key point is that you should not boast about the benefits.
- Tell me about your experience in previous jobs.
- Do you have children?
- Who would be responsible for your children if you were working?
Software Developer
The interview process was really smooth. There were two interview rounds. The first round was with the Hiring Manager, where they asked about my previous experience and some questions specific to the job. The next interview was on-site with about 4-5 people. They asked questions based on my resume and also had a sheet with C++ or other technical questions. I felt good about it because I got almost all of them right. I got feedback two or three days later, but they didn't say why I wasn't selected. It's okay not to get selected, but feedback is important for candidates to improve for future interviews.
- Questions were asked about my resume.
- Then they had a paper and asked C++ questions from it or other technical questions.
Marketing Manager
I applied through indeed and heard back from the hiring manager about a week later. After that, I had a panel interview with the team. Then, there was a 30-minute design test, followed by a final interview scheduled with the COO. However, the COO interview was canceled due to scheduling issues, and I ended up getting an offer over the phone.
- Can you discuss your approach to design techniques and theories?
Scrum Master
I had an initial phone interview with the hiring manager. It was pleasant, and I enjoyed speaking with her. I expected to wait a week or two to hear back about a second interview, but I was called the next day to schedule the in-person interview. The in-person interview included 6 people, Scrum Masters and Product Owners. They didn't seem prepared, as no one had questions, but the conversation flowed naturally after an awkward start. They were transparent about harsh working conditions and asked, "How do you respond to people being belligerent in the workplace?" After the hour-long interview, I got a tour of the building. It's a nice building with a gym and a snack bar. I saw "Trump" stickers everywhere in the office. They fired one of the Scrum Masters from my interview 3 days later. The day after that, they emailed me saying they wouldn't fill the Scrum Master position. The company seems volatile, but the benefits are amazing.
- How do you handle belligerent individuals during meetings?
