First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SAS.
Technical Support Engineer
First, there was a phone screen with HR where they asked some basic behavioral questions about my career goals, expectations, and current job. Then, I had an onsite interview with the hiring manager where they asked me some technical questions about my past experience and situation-based questions relevant to a tech support engineer role.
- Have you used the product before?
- What are your career goals?
- What are your expectations for this role?
Technical Support Engineer
I did a hirevue to answer some basic questions first. Then I had the final round interview, which was a panel of 4 technical support managers. They asked me really basic questions since this job was for early career folks. I didn't mind the panel, but sometimes it was quiet while they thought of questions. The managers were nice though and easy to talk to. What I didn't like was that I never met with HR to talk about salary or learn more about the job. Also, I never heard back after the panel interview. It's frustrating because I didn't get a rejection or any updates, and apparently, this is common based on other reviews.
- Can you tell us about your background and experience?
- What motivates your interest in SAS?
Technical Support Engineer
First, I had an online interview with the HR recruiter, and then I was immediately invited to a second online interview with the Iberia Manager. After that, I had a virtual interview using HireVue. It seemed like a fast process, but it wasn't. The recruiter then told me I was chosen for the last part: a group session and a final interview with the business team. However, this never happened. It was postponed multiple times, with just excuses, and then no more feedback.
- Can you tell me about your background and previous experience?
- What were some of the tasks you handled in your prior roles?
- Do you think this role is a good fit for you?
