The Hiring Manager (HM) contacted me and set up a phone interview for the next week. The HM called on time and was friendly. We started with 'tell me about yourself,' then they asked about my experience, like 'Can you give examples where you analyzed system/application performance?', with follow-up questions for each. They also asked me to rate my tech skills. After the technical questions, the HM explained the team structure and needs. I realized my experience was limited in key areas, so I felt I didn't have a great chance. I was asked if I had questions. The HM mentioned they were interviewing about 14 other people by phone and HR would follow up. After a few months, I got an email from HR saying the job was filled.
