I went through two interview rounds but was ultimately ghosted. The wait in between the first and second interview was about a month. The first interview was with the direct supervisor and HR and the second was also with them plus another manager. Questions felt standard. I think the team would have just been two people total.
- In a group project setting, what role would you typically take and what is your leadership style?
Standard Interview Process
The interview process seemed unnecessarily long for a place with such a high turnover. You start with an initial phone interview, lasting about 30 minutes, to see if you meet the basic needs for the position. If that goes well, you'll come in for an interview with 2-3 managers, which will be pretty similar to the phone interview. Then, you'll have a third interview with 2-4 people, including the managers from before and the company President.
- How do you manage doing multiple things at once?
- Describe how you complete a task that requires managing many people and different personalities.
Technical Manager
The hiring and interview process was handled by a board of interviewers, but the company president has the final say. There were some promises made that weren't kept. Company policies are in place, but the president can overrule them. Employees aren't treated well.
- It's 5:00 PM on a Friday, and a client was promised a deliverable by 9:00 AM Monday. What would you do?
Archaeologist
I had an interview with 4 senior leaders from the team. It was about 45 minutes and they asked about my relevant experience and also told me about what the company does and the specifics of the site I would be working on.
- Do you have experience with identifying Native American human remains, given that there are many on the field site?
