Sales
I had an initial phone interview with HR, and they were happy to advance me to the Sales Director role. The HR interview lasted about an hour, after which they wanted me to speak directly with the President on Saturday morning. This felt a little strange, but since he was likely busy, we scheduled it. He was late for the call, as he was in his car driving his kids to an appointment. He called back, and we had a good conversation about the job, and I felt like an offer would be coming my way. He said he'd follow up in a few days. However, that time passed, and I heard nothing, so I reached out to HR again. I was told the position was 'on hold.' Based on other reviews on Glassdoor, this seems to be their way of rejecting candidates without explicitly saying no, effectively ending the interview process.
- Can you tell me about your understanding of SEO?
- What are your insights into SEM?
- Could you describe some of the clients you've collaborated with previously?
Staff Accountant
HR from Vitals reached out to me about an open position. I wasn't looking for a job then but decided to meet the team to see what the opportunity was. I had a round of interviews and then they asked me to come back for a final interview the very next day. I agreed, thinking things would move quickly and I'd get an answer. I felt like a good candidate after day one, but the second interview didn't go as well. After following up, I was told I'd hear back in a couple of weeks, and that I'd get a decision either way. I would have preferred a formal rejection, but I get that companies might not want to waste time on that. They said it would happen, but I still haven't heard anything.
- Can you walk me through your resume and tell me what accounting concepts you know?
- What do you do on weekends?
- How do you handle stress?
Social Media Specialist
So there were a lot of meetings. First, a phone chat with a recruiter. Then, two weeks later, I had a one-on-one meeting in person with a senior recruiter. The next week, I went in for an interview at the company. After that, there was a group interview with people from different teams. Two weeks passed, and then I had another in-person interview, this time with the CEO. To wrap things up, there's a final interview with someone from another department... and it's still not definite if this last one will be the end of it all.
- What is your husband's occupation?
Product Manager
The interview process started with a recruiter phone call, followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager. The final stage was an on-site interview that lasted 4 hours, involving the hiring manager, a design lead/product peer, and the SVP of Product Development. After the final interview, there was a two-week silence before I inquired about feedback. For about 30 days, I sought feedback, eventually receiving a vague response. The SVP of Product Development left the company within a couple of months after my interview.
