First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SAP NS2.
Software Engineer
I had a call with the PM and two developers. It began with some academic-style questions, and then a bunch of general questions about their tech stack. It seemed like they were looking for a unicorn, and the recruiter mentioned other candidates had a similar experience. My suggestion to the hiring team: if you don't see a technology on someone's resume, don't assume they can't do the job, and focus questions on what's actually in use.
- Can you explain the difference between an interface and an abstract class?
- What are the four horsemen in programming?
Project Manager
I applied to a job posting I saw online. A recruiter from SAP NS2 called me and set up an onsite interview with two people for the project manager role. After the interview, they mentioned they didn't have the funding secured yet for the position, but anticipated hiring 2-3 PMs. I followed up every few weeks with the recruiter for a status update, and she kept saying they were still waiting for approval. After three months, I called again and was told they weren't sure about their direction and wouldn't be hiring for the role, which felt like a waste of my time.
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage conflicts between employees?
- Describe a situation where you had to resolve disagreements among team members.
Cloud Automation Engineer
I spoke with two Senior Engineers who are on the team. They were both super smart and knew a lot, but since it was for an internship, they didn't hit me with too many tough technical questions. They mostly asked things to get a feel for how I approach problems and my process for solving them. They also asked about my background, my experience, and any projects I've worked on, so definitely be ready to chat about that stuff. All in all, the interview process was pretty smooth.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Can you tell me about your related experience?
- Can you tell me about projects you have done?
Platform Engineer
The interview process had three rounds. The first was a phone screen with HR. Rounds two and three were with the hiring manager and engineers. Everyone was super friendly, and even though we had to reschedule because someone was sick, it all went really smoothly. They didn't ask any LeetCode-style questions, it was mostly about my past experience and how I handled specific situations.
- Can you elaborate on your infrastructure experience mentioned on your resume?
