So first there was like this initial screen interview, then I had a chat with the LD lead, and then there was this short modelling test. Honestly, everyone was really nice and friendly, and it was cool getting to chat about collision stuff with the LD lead. We talked about how important collision is in some famous sequences from different AAA games.

So I interviewed for this QA Analyst job, but honestly I think I was a bit overqualified. It's basically just a different name for a basic game functionality QA tester, they just use a different title to pay them a bit more. It wasn't the more challenging or technical role I was hoping for. The QA Manager or Head of the department seemed pretty standard, like others I've met at AAA game studios in LA. I asked about team diversity, and they got defensive, threw out some stats I couldn't check later. Didn't get the job, they said it was lack of experience in the rejection email.

I applied online and a recruiter reached out. After that, I chatted with the lead for my specific role. We had a good conversation, but based on my experience, the process didn't move forward.
