So I applied online and then I called the HR hiring coordinator. About a week later, the departmental hiring manager emailed me to set up an interview. The manager was really professional and told me how things would go. We scheduled another interview that included a mini-lesson. I was super impressed with all the professional development and mentoring the college offers. Their infrastructure is great and they really focus on giving students excellent instruction. They do a lot to make sure their programs are top-notch.

So, it was a few rounds, like 4 rounds I think. The first one, you're with 3 other people for like 15 minutes total. Then I think there was a presentation. After that, it was one-on-one, and then a group exercise. You gotta be outgoing, a good teammate, and a leader. It's not super hard if you're naturally like that, but if you're more shy, it's gonna be tougher, and you'll need to figure out how to stand out.

The process takes a while; if you're in a rush, this probably isn't for you. It took about 7 months from application to finish. The interview itself was about 45 minutes long and included 12 faculty members. The teaching demo was supposed to be 20 minutes long. This was for the English department; experiences in other departments might differ.

An IT team member reached out to set up a Zoom call. The interview was in the morning, but it seemed the people in the interview weren't even happy to be working there. Everyone read off the canned questions in a monotone voice and before the interview was even over, I had decided to not take any offer. If the people there are not happy, why would I want to join in the despair.
