The initial interview was a 60-minute phone call with Santa Cruz. If you aren't local, they do a second round of interviews, and if that goes well, they fly you to Santa Cruz to check out the facilities and see if it's a good fit.

I was interviewed by three different people. Some of them seemed engaged and competent, while others did not. The interview process was fairly easy to get through, and HR was supportive all along. Some inappropriate questions about family were asked.

Started with an online application where I could "Free write" about myself and my interest in the position. After the recruiter reached out, we scheduled an in-person interview. I met with key decision-makers who were interested in how my role would intersect with theirs. These in-person interviews were engaging and enjoyable. I felt confident in following up and preparing for the subsequent steps. Another in-person interview took place, leading to a final interview with the CEO. A long phone conversation solidified my desire for this role! The recruiter was very helpful and kept me informed throughout the entire process, which ultimately led to my new position! I'm thrilled with the entire experience!

So the interview was pretty standard for a software engineer role. It kicked off with a recruiter screen, then there was a chat with the team to see if I'd fit in personality-wise, and finally, a technical interview. Overall, the experiences were fair. My only hiccup was that during the final technical round, there were some folks there who probably didn't need to be, like the recruiter.
