Site Manager
The interview process involved a good discussion about my current role and responsibilities, focusing on the size of the team I manage. We also talked about my future goals, specifically where I see myself in the next 5 years and how I envision handling more team members.
- Could you share some information about yourself?
- Can you describe your current role and responsibilities?
- What is the size of the team you have managed?
Project Manager
The hiring process was easy, quick, and disorganized. It seemed like they were in a rush to hire anyone rather than finding the best fit. This approach makes me worry about the quality of people they're bringing in. It's important to make sure new hires fit the company culture and have the skills to do the job well. Hiring too fast can cause more people to leave and make both employees and management unhappy. Taking the time for a good hiring process could lead to better results in the long run and a more unified team. The main goal should be to build a team that not only fills jobs fast but also supports the company's goals and values.
- I'm still in the process.
Java Developer
So first you apply on the website, then they check your resume and if they like it, they might send you an online assessment to check your coding skills. If you do well on that, you'll have a video call with a recruiter or hiring manager to talk about your background and why you want to work there. After that, if you pass, you'll have one or more technical interviews with senior engineers where you'll do coding exercises and problem-solving, maybe on a shared platform or whiteboard. They might also have behavioral interviews with engineers and HR to see how you communicate and work in a team. Sometimes there are extra tests like system design or debugging. Then, if you're still doing well, you'll have a final interview with senior leaders to see if you fit the company culture. Before they offer you the job, they'll check your references. If everything looks good, they'll give you a job offer with salary and benefits. You can then negotiate stuff like salary or benefits before accepting the offer and starting.
- Can you explain how to reverse a string?
QA Engineer
I applied through TCS's website and got an acknowledgment. Then I took an online test covering quant, logic, verbal, and some basic coding. After passing that, I had a technical interview where they asked about my projects and technical skills. We discussed my tourism website project, its tech stack (HTML, CSS, JS, AWS), and my full-stack role. They also asked coding questions on data structures and algorithms, and scenario questions like optimizing web apps. Next was a managerial interview focusing on teamwork, stress, and time management. We talked about cross-functional collaboration and project data management. The final HR interview covered company fit, career goals, and availability, like why I chose TCS and my aspirations. I received an offer a few weeks later. The whole process was organized and the interviewers were nice.
- What skills do you possess?
