Intern
I applied through my school and got a call the next day for an interview. They asked a few questions about my studies and classes. The questions were easy, but I didn't get hired. They also asked about my resume and behavioral questions.
- Can you tell me about our electrical project?
- What are you studying?
- Can you tell me about your resume?
IT Intern
Found this IT Intern role on my university's job board in Oklahoma. An HR recruiter reached out and we scheduled an on-site interview. The interview was with a panel of 4 supervisors from different IT departments at Sandridge. They each asked me various questions about my past work experience, my interests in the IT field, and how familiar I am with specific programming languages and IT methods. Afterwards, the HR person inquired about other job offers I might have with other companies and my salary expectations to ensure their offer would be competitive. I got the offer about a month and a half later.
- Where do you see yourself working in IT after you graduate?
Lease Analyst
So, I went through 3 rounds of interviews. First, the HR recruiter talked to me, and they also got info for a background check. Then I interviewed with the supervisor I'd be reporting to. The second round was a phone interview with the supervisor and the person who would train me. For the third round, I met the VP of the department and the supervisor again. After a negative drug test a few days later, I got the job offer and started a week after that. The whole process took about a month. This was for an entry-level Office Services job 3 years ago.
- I remember just being honest, and myself, being professional and well-dressed.
- I'm educated and sharp and good at my job.
- But I have seen them hire alcoholics.
