First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sandow Business Solutions.
Account Manager
First interview was with Jordan, about 20 minutes, mostly resume review and a few questions. Seemed legit. Second interview revealed the job: basically being a DirecTV salesperson in Walmart. Two account managers took me to lunch (paid for my own meal) and explained it. All commission, no health insurance, no PTO, nothing. Hours are 10-7, Thurs-Mon (weekends). Could work 9 hours and get paid nothing. Drive to different Walmarts around Cleveland, no guarantee of location. They'll hire anyone. As a marketing grad, I want to work for a real company.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
Account Manager
I had a quick first interview in the office, and then they invited me for a second interview. For the second interview, we went out to lunch, and I was surprised that I had to pay for myself, which I found unprofessional. Later, I found out the job mostly involved standing in a Walmart, approaching strangers to sell them products. This was not what the job description said or what was discussed in the first interview. The work hours were unusual, and it required weekend work. I wouldn't recommend this job.
- What music do you enjoy?
- Tell me about any pets you have.
Account Manager
I did not like the process at all. Once I went out to lunch with the account managers, I felt like I had been deceived about what the job really is. I thought I'd be doing marketing like describe, but the job is just selling direct tv to people in Walmart. If that's what you want to do then this is for you! But, if not, be aware of this place and places similar to it.
- What characteristics would assist you in selling Direct TV to customers within a Walmart setting?
Project Manager
It started with a recruiter call, then a group interview with some of the team members. The final part was a one-on-one with the Director, which lasted about an hour and was the most challenging part because it got very technical.
- Could you share some of your experience?
