The interview process was pretty standard. It went well enough, and they didn't really hit me with any of those weird, modern interview questions. What I didn't like though, was the team interview they did to check if I'd be a good fit. This became an issue when they did the same thing to interview someone they already planned on hiring as our boss. It's not great to hire someone and treat them like an equal, only to promote them above everyone else shortly after, especially when the rest of us had been there for way more years.

It was a three-stage process. First, there was a phone interview. If I passed that, I was invited to a group testing session. The group testing involved verbal and math skills, which were simple but very fast-paced with 80 questions in 15 minutes. We also went over some basic classification and trade preference problems or examples. This part took a few hours. The final step was an in-person interview.

The process was pretty smooth and not too stressful. A friend referred me, which I think helped. I applied for two different jobs. I didn't get the first one, but they suggested I apply for a different role with a newly promoted manager who was hiring to replace himself. The people I met were really nice and casual, dressed very informally.

So, first there was a phone interview, it went for about 45 minutes, and it was pretty chill. Then, I had to do a group interview, which was also pretty standard. If you can keep your cool and show you know your stuff about US Customs and international trade, you'll be good.
