First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SanDisk.
Reliability Engineer
I got a call from the manager and we did a quick phone interview. He then suggested I apply and asked if I'd accept an offer if one was made. Later, for the on-site interview, I met with 6 people, including a director from another team and some senior engineers. I also met with the FA and reliability director on a separate day when I was at SanDisk for another interview. That director didn't ask any questions, which was weird, so I ended up doing all the talking. It was strange.
- Can you elaborate on NAND technology?
Reliability Engineer
I found the job through an employee referral. HR reached out and set up a meeting with the hiring manager. The manager chatted with me for about 15 minutes about my school projects. After that, I had a full day of onsite interviews. The main topic was NAND flash memory. Some of the managers were tough, but most were pretty nice. About two weeks later, a different manager contacted me with a job offer for his team.
- Are you familiar with NAND flash device physics and architecture?
- Be prepared for questions based on your resume and declared skills.
Process Engineer
Had a phone call with the manager and a colleague. Then a full day on site interview with six people, which included lunch with the manager. Hotel and flight were provided. Salary negotiation was handled by the recruiter. The background check was a long process.
- Can you tell me about your grad school thesis?
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
- What contributions can you make to the team?
