I got an email to set up a phone chat whenever was good for me. The phone interview was pretty short, maybe 15 minutes tops, and they asked me three things. At the end, they asked if I wanted to meet the supervisor face-to-face at the apartment complex. We set it up for the next week. That in-person chat was also about 15-20 minutes. They told me more about the job and the place then.

My interview process started with a recruiter call, then a phone screen. After that, I had an interview with a woman in the corporate office. During the interview with the first representative, I was given a salary figure. During the interview with the woman at the corporate office, I was asked what salary I was looking for, and I gave a figure slightly higher than the one Ms. X provided. Later that day, I got an offer letter for less than what I was initially told. I tried to negotiate salary with Ms. X, but she never responded. I left her a message two days later, and emailed her the next day with still no response. I called again the following day and left another message, still no response. At this point, I called the woman from the corporate office to discuss the salary negotiation and Ms. X's lack of communication. I was shocked when the woman from the corporate office lied and told me the salary I asked for was the same as the offer letter I received. I tried to explain that wasn't what I asked for, but she insisted. The corporate office woman then called Ms. X, because about fifteen minutes after my conversation, I got an email from Ms. X retracting my job offer because I asked for too much money. I had asked for $4k more annually and would have accepted $2k more (which was the same amount Ms. X had provided in the first interview). I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior from a company during a salary negotiation, nor have I had to wait a week for a response. Also, no one from Sandalwood Management ever called to check my references, which I found strange.

I got an email asking if I wanted to interview, and I said yes. Then, we scheduled an initial phone call. After that, they set up an in-person interview. I met with Beth, the talent scout, and the Accounts Payable manager. It was a pleasant, half-hour meeting.
