The interview process was pretty simple. They got back to me quickly. There were two people who seemed to be interns, and they asked questions one after the other. They also spent a good amount of time explaining the job details. It was formal, but it felt pretty comfortable.

The interview was scheduled online. I arrived early and waited in the lobby with the receptionist. A staff member escorted me to a windowless storage room where I met the current dentist and another staff member. The dentist asked about my background and where I was raised. They commented that I might be overqualified, which seemed like a red flag. We then shared some personal and professional details. The dentist seemed moderately interested, but no offer was made. Afterward, we took a short tour of the operatory area. The same staff member escorted me back to the lobby and mentioned that all applicants get an interview and a decision will be made in a few weeks, another red flag. The whole encounter, lasting less than an hour, was low-key and general, focusing on extractions and palliative procedures for a specific adult population.

So first the County has this test and then they make a ranked list. The test takes about 1.5 hours and it's just basic stuff about office procedures and such. If you get in the top 3 tiers then the hiring department might call you for an interview. You stay on the list for a year. I was interviewed by two people and then they did a background check which took 2-3 months.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • I was asked about typical office procedures.
  • I was asked if I knew county terms.
