& Process

The interview process was kinda fast and all over the place. First, I had a preliminary interview to check if I met the basic requirements, and then on the same visit, another person did a more in-depth interview. I originally applied for a full-time position, but after they offered me the job, I found out there wasn't actually a full-time position for new hires. I think they mentioned I wouldn't even be guaranteed around 20 hours to start. Also, even though I'm highly qualified for a management role, I was offered the position of "Courtesy Associate," which basically means doing grunt work, cleaning the parking lot, and gathering shopping carts. lol The Walmart I interviewed with and got an offer from is in Las Vegas, and the pay was $8.25 an hour.

I applied online and got an email asking for my preferred interview time. I was given a task to complete and bring to the interview. It was a group interview with 3 people. They asked mostly job-related questions, like "What would you do to prepare for a field trip?". I got called back a couple weeks later for the offer and filled out paperwork. They also do a fingerprint scan.

I had a video call interview with 2 or 3 full-time employees from SF Recreation and Park and Camp Mather management. The questions seemed pretty standard. The interviewers were pretty easy going and let me proceed even though I had major technical problems with my webcam not turning on.

It was an average interview process for an entry-level role. The organization was quick to respond initially, but HR has become quite slow. I really like my colleagues and it's a good chance to gain experience in recreation.
