First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Digital Content Manager
The interview process was pretty standard. It kicked off with the hiring manager, and then the second round involved a panel of about 6-8 people. For that second panel interview, I had to prep a presentation and then present my strategy for the role.
- Describe your approach to collaborating cross-functionally and building relationships with colleagues outside of your immediate team.
Advancement
It was a very casual and laid-back process. The team seemed underprepared, and it felt like the decision was already made before they spoke with me. The hiring manager seemed overly involved, and I didn't get to meet with a cross-functional team productively.
- Can you tell me about your most significant professional success?
Director
I had a phone chat with the VP I would have been working with, and we really clicked. Then, I had a half-day in-person interview with several meetings. Unfortunately, my lunch interview got canceled without anyone letting me know. I felt good about all the meetings, and I gave examples of past work that fit their questions. I sent a thank you email and offered references. I never heard back, and the job was listed again. They didn't even let me know I wasn't moving forward.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to fire or let go of an employee?
Resident Assistant
The office mentioned there are two rounds of interviews. The previous RA will also be in the interview. They will ask you questions that have come up before or may come up in the future.
- Can you describe yourself?
- What about your working experiences?
- Why do you wanna apply?
