First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at San Francisco Ballet.
Donor Relations Manager
I thought the process at the SF Ballet was a good reflection of their culture. They communicated consistently and promptly, and you could feel the passion from the employees at every stage. I decided to withdraw my application because I had other opportunities, but I'll definitely keep an eye on open positions at SF Ballet!
- Regarding the return to in-person work post-COVID, would you be open to it?
- Are you willing to work non-traditional hours?
Social Media Manager
The hiring manager was super engaged before the interview and communication was on point. The phone interview was straightforward; I was told it was just a casual chat to get to know each other and I could ask anything. We discussed salary expectations on the phone. The in-person interview felt pretty intimidating. It involved four different interviews with various teams all in one day. During one of these, it felt like the interviewer decided I wasn't worth their time, asked me if I had questions, and then left after about 5 minutes. After the interviews, there was zero follow-up. I tried reaching out via email and phone to the hiring department, but never heard back. Pretty shocking considering how attentive they were beforehand.
- What strategies come to mind?
- Can you tell us about your experience with analytics?
Marketing Director
Started with a phone screen from a consultant, then met with the Director, mid-level managers, and several staff members. I also had a follow-up call with the Director.
- Can you profile a project that had a significant financial impact?
Staff Accountant
The hiring process was straightforward and efficient. They clearly outlined the entire procedure during the initial phone call and discussed salary expectations early on. The second stage involved a comprehensive tour of the office and introductions to the team, as team integration is a key factor for this position.
- In what ways do you handle stressful situations?
