Instructional Designer
I had an initial phone screener with an HR recruiter, then two in-person panel interviews with different people. Everyone was really friendly. They also gave a HW assignment that was discussed. Communication was handled by email.
- How do you adapt your materials to different populations?
Case Manager
The interview process was easy and had 3 rounds, including a screening call. They move pretty fast. The questions were pretty general, mostly about your experience and the job description. If you have the experience, you should be fine answering them.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
Recruitment Specialist
This was one of the worst interviews I've ever had. At the start of the phone interview, we chatted a bit and she mentioned that it would take 20-45 minutes, which is pretty average. However, when asked to go through my work history I had barely gotten past my first roles and hasn't even gotten halfway through my resume when she decided to cut the interview short and said she'd be in touch. The full conversation was barely 10 minutes. No further questions about my work history in the past 5 years. For a nonprofit that claims to be assisting those searching for work it does poorly in its own practices.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Executive
Went through a few interview rounds, all were panel interviews. I felt the team was disengaged and stale during these meetings. The interviewers followed protocol and seemed hesitant to act independently or ask original questions. It felt like the executive director was seeking sycophants or people who would agree with everything. I was left hanging without a courtesy status update after multiple rounds. It's a shame because this organization is a leader in employment trends for the SD region, but their interview process felt sloppy and outdated for a 21st-century role, especially for high-level positions. They need to update their approach.
