First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.
Project Coordinator
Had a really good interview experience. I talked to three people who were higher up in the company. They were all super nice and didn't make me feel nervous. They seemed like genuinely happy people who enjoyed what they do, which was cool to see.
- Which fictional character do you think best represents you professionally or as a mentor?
Service Coordinator
You apply online, it's a simple application. Then they give you a call for the interview and ask for references in a separate email. Once that is sorted, you'll be scheduled for a group interview. It has 2 parts: first, a written one where they'll check your knowledge on the services, who qualifies, and how you found out about them, plus your strengths and weaknesses. Second part is the group interview with a panel of 3 people and the candidates. They say 'It's not a competition,' and they ask about 5 or 6 questions, giving everyone a chance to answer. At the end, you can ask them questions if you have any.
- Describe your organizational skills.
- What do you enjoy about your current/previous role, and what do you dislike?
- What motivates you to apply for this position with our company?
GIS/CAD Technician
So I applied through another company and then was submitted to this role. They gave me one time slot for the interview. It was a panel of 3 people, one was a contractor and the other two were employees. The employees didn't turn on their cameras but asked me to. It was totally scattered and unorganized. One interviewer actually left and then came back and asked me to repeat myself for the questions he missed. Then the two employees started arguing about needing to meet after the interview. I would never work there and I don't recommend it. They were disrespectful and left a bad impression. I didn't get an offer but I would not have accepted anyway.
- Have you verified field data before?
- Do you have floor plan design experience?
Database Administrator
After applying 5 months ago, I was finally contacted by a recruiter for a Skype interview with the hiring manager and a panel. The hiring manager was Indian and stated they wouldn't hire an American. I experienced some technical difficulties with their Skype connection, and the manager was rude. Despite my decades of experience, they never followed up and ghosted me on the status, even after I informed the HR person that I had other offers and needed to make a decision.
- How do you collaborate with diverse teams?
