My interview at Samsung was pretty good, mixing technical and behavioral stuff. First, they hit me with problem-solving questions about data structures, algorithms, and making solutions better. I had to do coding challenges, talk through my methods, and mention time/space complexities. They also checked my system design knowledge and programming basics. Then, they asked about teamwork, handling changes, and dealing with stress. They wanted to hear about old projects, how I worked with people, and any tough spots I ran into. The whole thing was solid, and the interviewers were cool, trying to see if I was technically good and would fit in.

First, there was an online assessment which included 2 easy LeetCode problems in C and an essay, lasting 60 minutes. After that, there was one interview where they went through my resume and asked basic ML questions like bias variance tradeoff, overfitting/underfitting, and a detailed discussion about transformers architecture.

The interview process was surprisingly unprofessional. Some engineers seemed inexperienced with interviewing and were quite confrontational. One interviewer repeatedly tried to assert dominance. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview. I was asked to give a presentation to the entire team about a past project. I chose a topic relevant to the role. About twenty minutes in, a senior engineer interrupted me, stating the problem was completely solved and asking for a different topic. I found this disappointing, especially since if the problem was solved, new hires might not be needed. The engineers clearly need training on how to conduct interviews.
