First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Samsung Austin Semiconductor.
Software Engineer
A recruiter reached out to me. First, I had a phone screen to talk about my current job, relevant experience, and some behavioral questions. It wasn't too tough. Then, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the engineering manager and a senior engineer from the team. It was moderately difficult, with a mix of technical and behavioral questions. Right after that, they invited me for an onsite interview, scheduled for three weeks later. The onsite took two hours. The first hour involved four senior engineers asking a lot of technical questions (not too hard) and some behavioral ones. The second hour was with a couple of senior managers, mainly asking behavioral questions.

Software Engineer
The interviewer was very nice and mostly asked me personal questions like why I wanted to work for Samsung and where I saw myself in five years. He also asked why I should be hired and what I liked and disliked about the company. I wasn't offered the job because there was a hiring freeze a week after my interview, which I wish they had told me before I even interviewed.
- Why do you want to work here?
- What are your career aspirations in the next five years?
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
Senior Software Engineer
Had a 30min phone call with the recruiter. It was mostly situational questions and they asked about my availability for the next round. The hiring team had a 90min video interview the following week. They asked about my past experience, and it was pretty easy since I knew what I did well. The hiring team was impressed and gave positive feedback. The recruiter emailed saying I would get the job. The offer took a long time to come, and there were no negotiations. The benefits are great!
