I applied and heard back for a first round interview with the hiring manager fairly quickly, and we scheduled it for two weeks out. The interview was light and conversational, and went well. A second round, virtual panel interview, was scheduled for the following week. During this interview, the interviewers seemed distracted, only paying attention when it was their turn to ask questions. They asked about burnout, and repeatedly mentioned preferring internal promotions over external hires, which raised red flags. After the interview, there was radio silence from Sammons for over a month, until an automated HR email arrived, even after I followed up. Overall, the interviewers and HR didn't seem very interested in the candidates.

The whole process was really smooth and positive. We had 2 in-person rounds, with 2 interviewers each. The first interview was about an hour, and the second was 30 minutes. The questions felt structured but also conversational. They started the background check before making the offer, and the offer came 3 days after that. The whole thing from start to finish took about 2 weeks after the first interview, but the hiring manager said that's not usually how it is because they needed to fill the role super fast. Even though it was quick, the in-person interviews and how responsive the HR Recruiter was gave me plenty of chances to see if the company and team were a good match for my goals and values. I felt really good about accepting the offer.

It kicked off with a job application and then a screening call with a recruiter, who gave me the lowdown on the company. After that, I had an in-person interview with eight different people, split into three groups. Lots of the same questions came up repeatedly. I was then invited back for a second round, which involved an on-site assignment with some pre-work and another round of questions with three more people. It concluded with a 'we'll be in touch.' The very next morning, I got an automated rejection email. Out of curiosity, I emailed the recruiter for feedback. The recruiter's reply was just a copy-paste of the automated response. I'm not upset about not getting an offer, honestly, I was on the fence about whether I'd accept it if it was offered. What I found disrespectful and what I'd caution others about regarding wasting their time applying at Sammons is how it ended. The time spent on the application, the screening call, the assignment, the pre-work, and interviews with 11 people in total, only to receive an automated rejection is ridiculous. To then get the same copied and pasted response when asking for feedback (which oddly came up several times during the interviews) clearly shows they don't value my time. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time there either.

I sent my resume over to the head of a department and ended up working pretty closely with them my senior year of college. They were looking to give current students job and internship opportunities. After that, I had a quick phone screen, and then they invited me to come in for an interview at their office. I flew in for it and interviewed with five people who had varying levels of experience. I also had lunch with two people who were newer hires. I got the offer about two weeks after the interview.
