I really enjoyed the whole interview process. Out of 5 companies I interviewed with, Samba TV was my favorite! It started with a quick chat with a recruiter. Then, I had a 30-minute video call with the hiring manager. After that, I got an email with a behavioral and cognitive assessment to complete. The next step was a panel interview where I met 5 different people for 30 minutes each. These people were from my potential team and teams that work closely with us. Finally, I met with the VP of my team and then Ashwin, the CEO. The entire process, from my first chat with the hiring manager to getting the offer, took about 3 weeks.

The interview process was really smooth and efficient. First, I had an initial phone call with HR. Then, there was a phone interview with a senior hiring manager. After that, I had an in-office interview. The in-office part included 1:1 chats with 5 team members, with 2 of those chats happening via Google Hangouts. The final step was providing contact details for 3-5 references. The hiring manager emailed the references and asked for a written response. The HR rep was great and always kept me updated on the next steps promptly. All in all, it was a great experience.

The interview process took over a month. The last step involved a conversation about my work experience and answering questions based on my research. Near the end, I was asked about potentially joining a different team (billing) as they needed someone. I mentioned this would steer my career differently, so I declined. Because I turned down the offer, I wasn't hired. I realized my decision likely cost me the job at SambaTV, as the offer was apparently ready, and everyone interviewed gave positive feedback. Later, I found out the job requirements were changed after my interview, even though I had the right qualifications. It was disappointing because I was willing to accept a lower salary to learn from that specific hiring manager. I won't apply to this company again.
