First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Samaritan Health Services.
Call Center Representative
The interview was easy, courteous, and friendly. There was no stress, and the questions were easy. The interviewer was easy-going and personable. I wish all interviews were this way. The interview was on Teams. It was not stressful and lasted less than 40 minutes.
- Can you describe how you've managed difficult or stressful calls in the past?
Medical Laboratory Scientist
Had three zoom calls. Was asked standard questions like ‘How do you handle difficult personalities in the lab’ and ‘describe how you work on a team’. I disclosed my disability and accommodation concerns, and HR said they ‘did not consider it a disability’. The position was filled by someone ‘more aligned with their needs’, then reposted a week later. Red flags everywhere. A month later, an internal friend told me they laid off 80 staff and cut salaries.
- How do you manage challenging coworkers?
- What is your definition of teamwork?
Electronic Health Records Specialist
It was a virtual interview. They asked about my software experience, like Facets, on base, Excel, etc. The questions weren't pre-planned and seemed to be made up on the spot based on my resume. It wasn't super hard, but the questions were unusual because they don't hire for this role very often.
- Could you describe your experience with MS Excel and provide examples of how you've utilized it in past positions?
Business Analyst
I was interviewed by the Manager and Supervisor, then got a call the next day to meet with the Chief Operating Officer. She asked me really specific questions that required internal knowledge of Samaritan. She seemed to want me to fail, and I did. It feels like this company doesn't give you a chance to show your true talent unless you know exactly what they want to hear. Being hardworking and reliable doesn't matter if you're not a game player. So, it's best to prepare your behavioral interview answers and tell them what they want to hear.
- Easy, but if you are honest, you will probably fail.
