First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Salinas Union High School District.
ROP Counselor
When I interviewed, the interviewers acted like I already knew a lot about the specific job duties, more than I actually did. I really wish they would have gone into more detail about the position itself during the interview.
- How would you handle your duties as an ROP program counselor?
Teacher
The interview was supposed to start 30 minutes after the scheduled time. It was pretty straightforward with two teachers and the principal asking questions. I didn't have to do a demo lesson. A lot of the questions were about discipline and classroom management.
- How do we reach all students?
Teacher On Special Assignment
The interview had two people, but one seemed uninterested and possibly had already decided against me. They mentioned there were two administrators involved in the process: a new one and an old one. It was discouraging from the start.
- Tell me about your background and experience.
- What are your qualifications for this role?
- Describe your approach to teaching and learning.
