Applied online. Then they emailed me about interview times that worked best for me. Interviewed in person with the managers of the unit. Mostly behavioral interview questions. A couple of clinical scenario questions.

I applied online and then like 3 weeks later, I got a call for an interview. The interview was in a room with 3 people, and I think they were hiring managers since they didn't mention their titles. Maybe it was because it was late and they were tired, wanting to finish up. They were nice, though, and asked a lot of behavioral questions. There were also 4 clinical nursing scenarios, basically asking what you think the patient has and what you'd do. Most of them were about the heart. It was pretty tough for me, like those super hard NCLEX questions where you have to think a lot because there's so much info. It was on paper so I could look back at the details. I was surprised they asked this stuff since I'm a new grad in their residency program, but maybe I just wasn't ready and messed it up. They were really nice about it.

I went through a few interview rounds that felt like speed dating. They interviewed over 130 people that day. You'd wait in line, and when a table was free, you'd sit with two managers who'd ask three questions. The first interview round was about 5 minutes long. Then you'd leave and wait to hear back. If you managed to catch a manager's eye, you'd get invited back for a second interview. This one was a panel with 4-5 managers, and they'd take turns asking a mix of clinical and general interview questions. The clinical questions were to check out your critical thinking skills. If you didn't know an answer, they said to just talk through your thought process – better than saying nothing! They were basic nursing assessment and intervention questions. The interviews were pretty well organized. My second interview was probably 30-45 minutes long. I got offered the job and started my orientation about a month later.
