First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Salem Five Bank.
Customer Experience Associate
I had a virtual interview that was around 20 minutes. We talked about the schedule, what the job entails, and I answered some basic questions about my background and how it could help in the role. They also mentioned the three-month training period before I'd be working independently.

Universal Banker
The interview process wasn't bad. My main issue was the recruiter's lack of respect. I was told I'd get an update in two days. When that didn't happen, I sent unanswered emails. Finally, when I called, she admitted she ignored me because she had no news. That felt like a red flag, so I withdrew my application right then.

IT Manager
This was a long and time-consuming process. I had to attend multiple in-person interviews after the initial phone screen. Getting to Salem was difficult, especially during October. The interviewers were often late, and the interview schedule kept changing. I also had to pay for parking. They requested my SSN for a credit check. The first interview went well, and I was invited for a second round. I had to take time off work to attend these interviews. Although the interviews seemed positive, and they checked my references (which were good), they eventually rejected me without a clear reason after a few days. It felt like a waste of time, and I wasn't compensated for travel or parking expenses. They now have my SSN, and I'm concerned about the credit report. The whole experience felt unprofessional, which explains why the position has been open since June. I regret not heeding the negative Glassdoor reviews.
- What were some easy technical questions you were asked?
Marketing Intern
I had an initial chat with HR, then I interviewed with two marketing team members. The interviews were positive, and the marketing staff were friendly. They mentioned they'd get back to me in two weeks, but I never heard from them. After that, I emailed the HR person a few times, but still got no response. They were really unresponsive and didn't even bother to tell me if the job was filled, especially since I came to their office for the interview.
- Could you tell me about your marketing experience?
